Montana’s turnout down from 2008

Turnout in Montana’s 2012 general election, both as a percentage of registered voters and the voting eligible population, was down from 2008 and comparable to 2004.

VEP turnout is a better indicator of voting behavior as it is not affected (or inflated) by deadwood on the voter registration roll. Registered voter turnout is relevant to election administration and get out the vote efforts.
