It’s getting colder: Buddy, can you spare a sleeping bag?

It’s getting colder,” Chris Krager of Kalispell’s Samaritan House homeless shelter reminded us Friday:

Many of our homeless residents have spent a considerable amount of time living out in the elements, so this time of year conjures memories of times unpleasant.

Donations are very important to Samaritan House and right now we could really use some supplies that would help our residents in the coming months. Here is a list of things that would be a huge blessing:

  • Winter socks
  • Sleeping bags
  • Insulated pants
  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Hand warmers
  • Backpacks

You can drop these off at the shelter [at 124 9th Ave West] or call 257-5801 for more information.

If you have surplus items of cold weather gear that’s on Krager’s list, please consider donating some or all of them to the homeless shelter.
