Flathead Bernie booster calls Hillary Clinton the “oligarchs queen bitch”

There are strange things happening in the Bernie Sanders boosting world. One is asking his supporters to sign a pledge to vote for him on 8 November 2016 — even if he isn’t the Democratic nominee. Another is the sad spectacle of a local Bernie booster, a woman truly committed to getting him elected, disparaging Hillary Clinton with trash talk.

The pledge is available online. So far, I’ve found one website and one Facebook page promoting it. There are surely many more. Needless to say, I think it’s a bad idea that could help a Republican win the White House.

Does it surprise me? No. In every election, some people become so invested in a candidate that they become vengeful and irrational when their candidate loses the primary. Usually these people calm down and vote for their party’s nominee, a few diehards excepted. Right now, the diehards behind the “I’ll vote for Bernie come hell, high water, common sense, or enlightened self-interest” pledge should shut down their operation, which is already generating oaths from HRC’s camp.

Incidentally, I find myself wondering whether this pledge is what triggered Secret Squirrel’s screed at Montana Cowgirl.

The person calling HRC “the oligarchs queen bitch” is Lisa Morrow, who leads the Flathead group for Bernie that’s been meeting at the Flathead County Library (AKA ImagineIF Libraries). Here’s what she posted on Facebook:

Morrow’s commitment to Sanders is unmistakable, but it would be more effective were it couched in more diplomatic language, and were she to limit her comments to what’s good about Bernie and remain silent on what she finds bad about Hillary. Democrats can be adversaries, but they are also partners in working for a better world. They should not treat each other as enemies.
